Over 25 ex-staff members from Camborne School of Mines (CSM) took a trip down memory lane as they visited the Berlewen building, their former offices, on Friday 4 June.
CPR Regeneration helped to arrange a tour around the building with Cornwall Learning, JW Engineering and Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change (CN4C) all welcoming the group to their current offices in the Berlewen Building. The group then went on to visit the new Pool Innovation Centre and finished up with a tour of Heartlands Park in the afternoon.

Over fifty local business people attended a series of lunchtime workshops in the Pool Innovation Centre. The Centre is currently being fitted out ready to open in July 2010.
People heard talks from a variety of speakers about HR, low carbon issues, sustainable tourism and innovation and research.
100% of those attending thought that the Pool Innovation Centre was a great venue for such events.
Richard Jackson, Business Engagement Advisor for CPR Regeneration, who helped to arrange the events said, "It was really good to see businesses coming together to hear about topical issues and gain insights for their development. We hope to hold more events which will provide local companies with access to expert advice and the opportunity to network in the future."

The weekly market on Friday in Camborne has now been running for eight months and two recent surveys in the town have shown that more people are coming into town on Friday to visit the market and go shopping in order to show their support for local producers. The market is also in Redruth every Thursday.

Another piece of the highway improvements jigsaw for the Camborne Pool Redruth area has fallen into place with the switching on of the new traffic signals at the junction of A3047 Tolvaddon Road with the A30 eastbound slip roads.

Tuesday 9 February saw the launch of the Redruth Information Exchange at 2 Fore Street Redruth (opposite the Regal cinema). Barbara Ellenbroek, Mayor of Redruth and Alan Jewell, Redruth Town Crier, cut the ribbon to open the Information exchange. The Information Exchange is open from 10.30am - 4.00pm until Saturday 13 February.

The new traffic signals at the East Hill junction in Pool were switched on at 2.30pm on Monday 14 December, relieving the congestion recently experienced during the works to build the new junction and a dual carriageway along Tolvaddon road to the A30.

East Hill Works - Permanent Traffic Lights Complete by Christmas
The major improvements to the East Hill junction, off the A30 dual carriageway, are crucial to a wide range of regeneration projects in the area. Only after this work is complete will the Highways Agency allow significant development work to take place in this area as the new junction and traffic lights are designed to avoid the danger of traffic queuing back onto the A30. This work has allowed the construction of the Pool Innovation Centre and the opening up of further land for employment space.
