The School Workshop
8 December 2009
Over twenty pupils from Redruth School, a Technology College, today (8 December 2009) took part in the first workshop to help develop the Redruth Action Plan Project (RAPP). RAPP aims to create a community supported vision for the economic development of Redruth over the next 20 years.
Pupils from key stages three, four and five came together to discuss and develop ideas about what would make a good town centre for Redruth and to see how they can involve the rest of the school in developing ideas and proposals for the future of Redruth.
The pupils considered that a real strength of Redruth was the area's positive community spirit and it is hoped that this will enable the project to see good results in the next few years.
The RAPP is directed by a steering group made up of South West RDA (Regional Development Agency), Homes & Communities Agency, Cornwall Council, Redruth Town Council and is managed by CPR Regeneration, the urban regeneration company for Camborne, Pool and Redruth, utilising investment from the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) Convergence Programme and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).
A workshop for local businesses will be held on Wednesday 6th January, for more details on this event please contact Imelda Martin at CPR Regeneration, the urban regeneration company for Camborne, Pool and Redruth, on 01209 722099.
